Departments

What We Work On

Our team is divided into six departments, each focused on a critical part of designing, building, and operating high-altitude missions.

Business & Media

Manages partnerships, funding, branding, and outreach. This team keeps MHAB running smoothly and communicates our mission to the world.

Mechanical

Designs and builds the structural systems that survive high-altitude conditions, from payload frames and stabilisation to mechanical integration.

Electrical

Develops the electronics that power the mission—sensors, data systems, wiring, power management, and the core black-box hardware.

Software

Builds the code that runs the payload, enabling data acquisition, sun-tracking, and mission operations.

Optics

Designs the telescope and imaging systems for our pilot mission, capturing high-quality solar data—including H-alpha emissions—from above 99% of the atmosphere.

Science

Defines mission goals and works with researchers to develop future high-altitude experiment payloads.
